No. 7 Cyclones Prove Tough to Handle in Roos' First Road Contest

Jamar Brown scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting in the loss
AMES, Iowa - Kansas City Men's Basketball (2-1) started hot in its first road game of the year but cooled off down the stretch, losing to No. 7 Iowa State, 82-56. The Roos jumped out early, hitting their first three shots of the day and gaining a lead, but finished the game shooting just 33.3% from the field in the loss. Jamar Brown gave the Roos an offensive spark when they most needed it, finishing with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Jayson Petty scored all 12 of his points in the second half, tacking on eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.

- Petty's eight rebounds were within one of his career-high and brings his season average to 5.3 per game, over two more than his average last season.
- Kansas City blocked five Iowa State shots on the night, led by Josh Ijeh with three. He committed just one foul on the night, making him the first Roo since Jeff Ngandu on Feb. 16, 2023 to go for three-plus blocks on one-or-fewer fouls.
