Roos travel to Omaha before hosting Oral Roberts and South Dakota
Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City is hoping to snap a six game losing streak in Summit League play after dropping their latest contest against Denver in a close four-set match. The Roos recorded 38 kills on 104 total attacks for a .241 hitting percentage to go along with nine service aces and 37 digs.Â
- Sila Ozyurek led the Roos offensively against the Pios with 12 kills on 20 total attacks and a .500 hitting percentage. It was Ozyurek's third match this session with double digit kills. Thanks to a strong performance versus the Pios.Â
- Kaia Dunford completed her ninth consecutive match with 10 or more kills, notching that exact mark in Saturday's match. In total, Dunford has recorded a team high 243 kills, fourth most in the Summit League this season. Dunford leads all Summit League players in total attacks, nabbing 763 this season.Â
- Defensively, Kansas City recorded 50 digs and 12 block assists in the loss against Denver. Sydney Henry led the Roos in digs with nine to go along with a team high 23 assists for the team's lead setter. Kailee Deffebaugh led KC in block assists with four in the match.Â
Omaha Notes
- Kansas City and Omaha will meet for the 18th time in the regular season. Historically, the Roos hold a 9-8 all-time advantage over the Mavericks, however the Mavericks have won three of the last four meetings between the two teams.Â
- Omaha is led by McKenna Ruch, the Mavericks team leader in points, points per set and hitting percentage among players with 50 or more sets played this season. Ruch recorded 21 kills and a .529 hitting percentage in the Mavs recent contest against Denver.Â
- In the Summit League, Omaha is tied for third with South Dakota State in kills with 861 of them this season. The Mavericks are second in the Summit League in total blocks with 157.5. Â
Oral Roberts NotesÂ
- Oral Roberts and Kansas City will face off for the 37th time in their regular season series history. The Golden Eagles lead the Roos in the series 27-9, but the Roos have won three of the last four meetings between the two conference foes.Â
- Oral Roberts is led by Trinity Freeman, who leads the team in kills, points, total attacks, and hitting percentage. Freeman ended up with 21 kills in the Golden Eagles previous matchup against Kansas City this season.Â
