Kansas City takes on Colorado State and UIC

The Roos start the week on the road and return home for Sunday’s match
Kansas City Notes
- The Roos put up a season-high 16 shots, eight of which were on frame in their matchup against Southern Illinois. Junior midfielder Kayda Kamolz knocked in the Roos lone goal and earned her first career goal. Kamolz kept her energy going into the St. Louis matchup playing a season-high 65 minutes.
- Fouls have been an issue for the Roos in their past two matchups, with both SIU and SLU scoring off of free kicks. The Roos out fouled the Salukis ten to five and the Billikens nine to eight.
- This will be the first time the Roos have faced the Flames under head coach Jessica Smith. Kansas City's won in overtime in Chicago in their 2018 matchup.
- Freshmen have played a major role on the Roos squad this year. The five first-years have played a combined 600 minutes in the first four games. Maya Prehm is second on the team in shots and leads the freshmen with four.
- The UIC matchup will be the Roos' first home game since their season opener against Lindenwood on Aug. 17.
Colorado State Notes
- The Rams faced Denver University in their season opener. Colorado State and DU drew in their matchup with each team knocking in a goal. Kansas City will face Denver on Oct. 12 during Summit League play.
- Sophomore Forward Olivia Fout leads the Rams in goals with three. Fout has scored a goal in every game this season and with a perfect 1.00 for shots on goal.
University of Illinois Chicago Notes
- UIC has put up two goals this season both of which were unassisted. The first came from sophomore midfielder Makenna Maloy and the second was from junior defender Kaysey Castro. Both Maloy and Castro scored in the draw against Toledo on Aug. 17.
- The Flames put up a season-high 19 shots against Toledo, seven of which were on goal.
- Junior goalkeeper Sarah Sanabia has started two of the three games in goal, putting up a season-high five saves against Miami University.
