Roos Travel to Columbia for In-State Showdown

Kansas City will take on the Tigers on Thursday before heading to conference play
Starting Five
- Kansas City extended its winning streak to five with a comeback win over Alabama A&M followed by a dominant victory over Kansas Christian. The Roos head into the matchup against Mizzou looking for their first road victory of the year in Columbia.
- Following an explosive 84-point victory on Monday night the Roos will look to maintain their energy against Mizzou. Along with tying the record for most points in program history, five Roos put up double-digit performances including double-doubles from Ifunanya Nwachukwu and Zanaa Cordis.
- Freshman guard Raychel Jones put up a career performance against the Kansas Christian Falcons. She scored the first basket of her college career, all while falling just one block short of a five-by-five. During her 21 minutes on the court, she earned 20 points, nine field goals on 10 attempts, six rebounds, five assists, four blocks and six steals.
- The last time Kansas City was on a winning streak for five games or longer was during conference play from Jan. 27, 2022, to Feb. 19, 2022, in which the Roos went on a nine-game winning streak. The Roos finished the 2021-22 season with a 23-9 record. Following the matchup between the Roos and the Tigers, Kansas City will head into conference play, facing Oral Roberts on Dec. 29.
- Kansas City earned its first comeback win of the season against Alabama A&M on Dec. 14. The Roos trailed the Bulldogs 29-25 at the half but a big third quarter allowed Kansas City to improve to a winning record. Prior to the matchup, the Roos were 0-3 when trailing at the half.
Mizzou Notes
- The Tigers will look to break the Roos one game winning streak and pick up their ninth win of the season. Following the matchup on Dec. 8, 2019, the Roos finished the season with a 21-10 record, and the Tigers ended 9-22. Kansas City's season ended due to the cancellation of the WAC tournament.
- Mizzou faced Illinois on Sunday eeking out a 69-66 victory to allow them to head into the matchup on a one-game winning streak. The Tigers longest winning streak so far this season is three games.
- The matchup between the Roos and the Tigers will be both teams' final game before heading into conference play. Mizzou opens SEC play at LSU (11-1).
- Graduate forward Hayley Frank leads the Tigers offensively. She averages 17 points per game and has earned 204 points this season 75 of which were earned outside the arc.
