
Kansas City Athletics Posts Fall Semester Academic Success

The department posted a 3.40 GPA for the fall semester, bringing the cumulative GPA to 3.42
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Athletics student-athletes have continued to show dedication and success in the classroom, as was shown by the department's fall 2022 numbers. As a whole, the Roos posted a 3.40 fall GPA, maintaining the department's cumulative GPA at 3.42.
"I am elated by the stellar academic achievement of our student-athletes this semester," Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin said. "We continue to be at the vanguard of academic excellence at the conference level, and nationally. This is a victory not only for Athletics for for the UMKC community as a whole. I want to send a special thanks to our coaches and academic support staff for their contribution in encouraging our student-athletes towards academic excellence."
All of the Roos' athletic teams posted a semester GPA above the 3.0 mark, and all have maintained cumulative GPAs above that mark as well. In addition, four teams posted fall GPAs above the 3.50 mark. Tennis led the department with a 3.79 GPA, while the golf team led the men's side with a 3.58 GPA.
In addition, Kansas City had 155 student-athletes post a GPA above 3.0 and had 17 student-athletes post a perfect 4.0 GPA.
"KC Athletics student-athletes continue to prioritize their academic endeavors," Deputy Director of Athletics/SWA Ursula Gurney said. "I am proud of their accomplishments in the classroom and commitment striving towards graduation."
