Kansas City Notes
Kansas City Notes
- The Roos are on a three-game losing streak, KC's second such streak this season. The Roos have not lost more than three games in-a-row in the same season since a four-game skid in the 2017 season.
- Carly Gillen was the Roos' highlight of the KC Roos Classic, earning All-Classic Team honors. She went for a career-high 10 kills on 0.571 hitting in the Roos' loss to Northern Illinois.
- Freshman Sydney Henry has been a pleasant addition to the Roos' passing game. She has led KC in assists in six-of-nine matches, splitting setting time with Peyton Van Nest.
- Odyssey Warren is Kansas City's leading attacker through the first nine matches of the season, tallying an average of 2.74 kills per set. Raina Smith follows her, notching 2.29 kps.
- Despite being generally undersized, the Roos have been out-blocked in just four of their nine matches, and average 9.7 blocks in wins.
Kansas State Notes
- The Wildcats and Roos have met 24 times in the past, all of which have been Kansas State victories. The 24-game losing streak is tied with Kansas for the Roos' longest against a single opponent.
- The Wildcats are 8-2 on the young season, including wins over NC State, Syracuse and Missouri.
- Shaylee Myers has played in just 16 sets for the Wildcats, but is averaging 4.06 kills in those sets.
Missouri State Notes
- The Roos are still seeking their first win against the Bears following last season's 3-2 loss in Lawrence, Kan.
- The last two meetings between the teams have gone five sets, the only four sets that KC has won against MSU.
Iowa State Notes
- The Roos are 0-10 all-time against the Cyclones, but have not met since the 2006 season.
- ISU's Alexis Engelbrecht ranks 68th in the nation, averaging 1.24 blocks per set.
Saint Louis Notes
- Kansas City has defeated Saint Louis in each of the teams' past three meetings, KC's only wins against SLU.
