Kansas City Notes
Kansas City Notes
- Head Coach Ryan Pore is a Golden Hurricane legend, twice earning All-American status while playing for Tulsa from 2002-04. Pore also coached at Tulsa from 2013-19.
- In addition, keeper Cooper Clark and forward Noah Gonsalves are both transfers from the Golden Hurricane. However, after drawing a red card in the Roos' win over Bradley, Gosalves will be suspended for Thursday's match.
- Kazuki Kimura and Christian Koffi have each taken five shots in the Roos' first two games, with each placing two on goal. Kimura scored the game-winner in KC's defeat of Bradley.
- Shfeo Lar has taken just one shot on the year, but made it worth his while, scoring his second-career goal against the Braves.
- On average, the Roos are out-shooting opponents 12.5-10.5 on the year.
- Of Kansas City's 18 newcomers on roster this year, nine have seen the field so far. Leading the bunch is Bryson Gosch with 168 minutes played.
- After posting a .747 save percentage en route to winning Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year honors for the second-straight season, Clark has opened up the 2022 season by making five saves on eight shots on goal faced.
Tulsa NotesÂ
- The Golden Hurricane officially enter Thursday's match with a 1-0-0 record, but were trailing Wisconsin 3-0 on Sunday before lightning struck in the 69th minute and the game was declared a no contest.
- In Tulsa's season-opening win over Marquette, three different players found the score sheet.
- The Roos and Golden Hurricane have met 15 times in the past. Kansas City's lone win came in 1995, a 2-1 win in Kansas City. The teams have tied twice, in 2005 and 2013.
- Tulsa is one of 40 teams in Division One that have yet to lose or tie in a match.
