Softball Enforces Run-Rule in Senior Weekend Sweep

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Softball (13-33, 9-11) swept their first series of the season in their regular season finale against South Dakota (27-23, 11-10). The Roos used hot bats to score nine runs in four innings to run-rule the Coyotes, 9-0. The day was highlighted by the seniors with a Kloe Hilbrenner homerun, a 3-for-3 performance at the plate from Alexis D'Ambrosio and a diving catch in the outfield by Katie Slauson.

Kansas City will be the five-seed in the Summit League championship next week in Brookings, S.D. They will face the four-seed, South Dakota, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11 at Jackrabbit Softball Stadium. This will be the fourth time in five days that the Roos will face the Coyotes, as KC will look for the four-game season sweep.
