Catcher from Palatine, Illinois
Hi my name is Alexis D'Ambrosio. I usually go by Lexi, and I am from Palatine, Illinois. I am a catcher for Kansas City Softball while also completing a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Dear Softball,
I wanted to start by saying thank you softball for making me the person I am today, I wouldn't be the same without you. You have taught me how to be mentally tough and accept failure as much as it is hard to accept failure sometimes. You have taught me how to take responsibility, how to work hard for something I want and that I can't skip corners. You have taught me how to respect others and the game. You have taught me that being early is on time and being on time is late, and I think that one will haunt me forever.
All the way back from the little Palatine Stingrays to high school at Fremd, through the New Lenox Lightning, and now here at Kansas City, you have given me some of the best memories and friends I will cherish forever.
Thank you to my past coaches for setting me up for success and helping me to get to Kansas City. Thank you for believing in me and pushing me to be a better person and athlete.
Thank you to all my past and current teammates. You guys are the ones who really helped get through the challenging days, and I will always remember more of the memories we made as friends than the wins and losses we went through.
Thank you seniors. Mia and Ashley I cannot believe we have gone through all four years together. Kloe, Delainey, and Katie I am so happy you guys chose Kansas City to complete your career. The five of you alone have given me so many laughs and I can't wait to see what you accomplish in the future.
AND finally, thank you to my parents for signing me up for this sport. I don't think any of us knew what we were getting ourselves into. From the long weekend trips all over the country to driving me over an hour to practice, thank you for supporting me and pushing me to be the best athlete I could be. Thank you for always making sure my uniform was clean, for packing enough snacks, and for driving me in the early mornings or late nights so that I could always get a little extra sleep. Thank you for giving up your time to help me succeed. I love you guys.
Thank you Softball.
Love,
