THE ROOS, QUOTED
Head Coach Jacie Hoyt
- On the mid-game switch to zone defensively
- "We planned on that in the short amount of time that we could. South Dakota has so many weapons and we felt like we needed to keep them off a rhythm. We felt like the zone was the right thing to go to, and I believe that it was effective in the first half."
- On what made this team special
- "The way that they compete, the way that they work, they left their mark in a way that was just different. They raised the bar, they raised the standard. They didn't just do it as basketball players, they did it as people."
Naomie Alnatas
- On the Roos' historic season
- "We had a great season. Yeah, I'm upset right now, but I have to keep perspective. We made history. This was the best group I've been a part of. We love each other, we enjoy each other and we compete against one another. It's just fun … I felt very blessed throughout the whole year."
UP NEXT
The Roos currently stand at 23 wins, the second-most in program history. They will wait to see if their postseason continues in the coming days.
