Dr. Brandon Martin was one of 23 leaders in athletics to be recognized for DEI work by Sport Business Journal
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Athletics Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin was recognized as a leader in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the March 28th edition of the Sports Business Journal (SBJ).
In coordination with SBJ ALL IN, a virtual two-day conference on March 30 & 31, Sports Business Journal recognizes the work of individuals at leagues, teams, colleges, college conferences and professional organizations in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion in sports business.
The journal models DEI practices within their organization, and within the industry at large. They have pioneered the measurement of diversity in sports, are providing instruction and training in achieving equity in their organizations and lead by example in how to make the sports business a more welcoming and open forum for all.
"I'm honored to be recognized with such an esteemed group of leaders, pioneers and champions of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion," Martin said. "This work is critical in engendering positive change; not only in sport, but in society at large. I remain committed to this important work."
Martin was one of 23 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion leaders who were recognized in the article, including individuals that work in professional sports, collegiate conferences and other NCAA universities. In addition to earning this recognition, Martin also is co-chair of the Black AD Alliance and has worked with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City to elevate girls in sports.
