Roos Fall to Jackrabbits in Regular Season Finale

Josiah Allick led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Men's Basketball (19-11, 12-6) fought tooth and nail with the Summit League's top-ranked team on Senior Night, but in the end South Dakota State prevailed, 86-75. Four Roos scored in double digits on the day, led by Josiah Allick's second 20-point game of the year.
KEY MOMENTS
- 1H / 7-4 | The Roos started off hot as Evan Gilyard came up with a steal and found Arkel Lamar in transition for a rim-rocking alley oop.
- 1H / 16-12 | As the shot clock neared its end, Allick used a step-back fadeaway jumper to extend the Roos' lead to four.
- 1H / 29-35 | The Jackrabbits went on a run, but the Roos responded with a nine-point run of their own, capped by a fast break layup by Timothy Barnes.
- 1H / 36-39 | A pair of Gilyard free throws cut the deficit to three, but SDSU closed the half on a 6-0 run.
- 2H / 45-48 | Shemarri Allen found an open Allick at the basket, who rose up through contact and completed the three-point play.

- 2H / 68-76 | An Allick three-pointer with 1:31 remaining gave the Roos life, but South Dakota State would hold on for the win.

- Allick finished with 21 points and seven rebounds, leading the team in both categories. He was also the only Roo to make multiple three-pointers, finishing 2-of-2 from long range.
- Nesbitt Jr. was all over the stat sheet, finishing with 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal.
- Lamar picked the Jackrabbits' pockets for four steals, coming within one of his career-high.
- The Roos shot 50% from the field, their 13th game hitting that mark this season. They have been at-or-above 50% in six of the last nine games.
- Following the game, Gilyard, Lamar and Nesbitt were honored during Senior Night festivities. Those three have comprised 51.0% of the team's total points, 38.8% of rebounds and 45.8% of assists this season.

The Roos finish the regular season tied for third in the Summit League, the best conference finish since 2014-15. They will be the fourth seed at the Summit League Tournament next week, opening up postseason play against South Dakota on Sunday at 6 p.m.Â
