Gilyard and Lamar post career-high-tying performances
FARGO, N.D. – Kansas City Men's Basketball (18-10, 11-5) used a 21-6 run in the final five minutes to secure the season sweep over North Dakota State (20-9, 12-5) in the 85-71 victory. Evan Gilyard II, Arkel Lamar, Josiah Allick and Marvin Nesbitt Jr. combined for 84 of the Roos' 85 points and shot 76.9% from beyond the arc, knocking down all 10 of KC's three-pointers. Gilyard and Lamar also matched their career-highs in points scored with 33 and 24, respectively.

Kansas City will return home for their final two games of the regular season next week. First up is South Dakota on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Swinney Center, followed by South Dakota State on Saturday for Senior Night.

- 2H / 72-67 | A pair of threes by Lamar and Gilyard gave KC a five-point lead.
- 2H / 81-71 | Nesbitt Jr. stole the ball and slammed it down on the other end to secure the victory.
- This is Kansas City's second 18-plus win season in the past 20 years. The Roos finished the 2016-17 season with a record of 18-17.
- KC shot 71.4% from behind the three-point line tonight, their best in the Billy Donlon era.
- Gilyard tied his career-high of 33 points that he set back on Jan. 31 against Western Illinois. He finished 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and dished out seven assists.
- Lamar also tied his career-high with 24 points, set last time the Roos faced NDSU at home on Feb. 19. He went a perfect 4-for-4 from the three-point line, his most threes in a game in a Kansas City uniform.
- Allick added 19 points, his second-highest scoring performance this season since the first game of the year against Minnesota on Nov. 9, 2021.
