Gilyard and Lamar post career-high-tying performances

FARGO, N.D. – Kansas City Men's Basketball (18-10, 11-5) used a 21-6 run in the final five minutes to secure the season sweep over North Dakota State (20-9, 12-5) in the 85-71 victory. Evan Gilyard II, Arkel Lamar, Josiah Allick and Marvin Nesbitt Jr. combined for 84 of the Roos' 85 points and shot 76.9% from beyond the arc, knocking down all 10 of KC's three-pointers. Gilyard and Lamar also matched their career-highs in points scored with 33 and 24, respectively.

2H / 81-71 | Nesbitt Jr. stole the ball and slammed it down on the other end to secure the victory.

STATS TO NOTE

This is Kansas City's second 18-plus win season in the past 20 years. The Roos finished the 2016-17 season with a record of 18-17.
KC shot 71.4% from behind the three-point line tonight, their best in the Billy Donlon era.
Gilyard tied his career-high of 33 points that he set back on Jan. 31 against Western Illinois. He finished 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and dished out seven assists.
Lamar also tied his career-high with 24 points, set last time the Roos faced NDSU at home on Feb. 19. He went a perfect 4-for-4 from the three-point line, his most threes in a game in a Kansas City uniform.
Allick added 19 points, his second-highest scoring performance this season since the first game of the year against Minnesota on Nov. 9, 2021.
