The Roos will host Omaha on Friday and Denver on Sunday
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -Â Kansas City Women's Soccer will look to close regular season play on a high note, taking on Omaha and Denver in its final two games of the season.
Kansas City Notes
- While it will take some magic, the Roos are not out of conference tournament contention. At five conference points, KC is within striking distance of South Dakota, Omaha and North Dakota State at the No. 4-6 spots. In order to overtake any of those teams, the Roos must win both games this weekend and hope for one of the three to be defeated twice.
- Kansas City picked up its first Summit League victory of the season last weekend, defeating South Dakota on a 79th minute goal from Caijah Anderson.
- Anderson became the third Roo to score a goal this year, behind Madison Page (5) and Lily Stedman (4).
- Page's five goals is tied for sixth in the Summit League, despite being outside the top-ten in shots and shots on goal.
- Mackenzie Caldwell logged her sixth-career shutout vs. USD, making seven saves.
Omaha Notes
- Omaha enters this weekend in a tie for fourth in the conference standings with 11 points.Â
- Last weekend, the Mavericks came away with a pair of wins over St. Thomas and Western Illinois.
- Last season, the Roos defeated Omaha, 2-1, behind goals from Kassi Ginther and Sarah Karloff.
- Omaha's Emilie Erland has come in clutch for her side, scoring a pair of game-winning goals.
Denver Notes
- Denver currently sits atop the Summit League with a 6-0-1 conference record. The team's lone draw came against South Dakota State.
- The Pioneers have averaged 2.6 goals per game in conference play, and scored eight total in a pair of wins last weekend.
- In the 2021 season, Denver ran past the Roos, 6-1. Emily Jensen scored KC's lone goal.
- Camryn MacMillan and Sami Feller are tied for third in the league with six goals each. Feller is second in the Summit with 18 points.
