Coach Kerry Shaw secured three key signings going into 2022
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Softball Head Coach Kerry Shaw has announced the signing of three incoming freshman, Lexy Smith, Jenna Milan and Simone Cobb.
Lexy Smith | INF/OF | 5'8 | Holt High School | Wentzville, Mo.
High School: Attended Holt High School, playing for coach Joel Adam, Laura Blechle and Dean Streed … As a senior, earned Second Team All-Conference, First Team All-District, Second Team All-Region, Academic All-Conference, and was a captain … As a junior, earned First Team All-Conference, First Team All-District, First Team All-Region, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-State … As a sophomore, earned Second Team All-Conference, Second Team All-District, Academic All-Conference, Academic All-State, LEAD Select … Won Conference Championship sophomore and junior year, winning District as a junior … Career batting average of .428, with .473 average as a junior … Career fielding percentage of .924 … Hit seven home runs in high school career … Also played volleyball … Played three years for Southaven Illusions, two years for STL Prospects, one year for STL Fusion and one year for STL Heat Gold

High School: Attended Trinity Valley School, playing under coach David Rodriguez … As a junior, threw 18 strikeouts in three games and posted .800 batting average before season was canceled due to COVID-19 … As a sophomore, earned All-Conference and All-Area honors, as well as Offensive MVP, throwing 72 strikeouts in nine appearances, posting a .553 batting average and leading her team in hits and runs scored … As a freshman, was awarded All-Conference honors and named Newcomer of the Year … Also played basketball and was on school cheer team … Played club ball for Texas Glory, coached by Kevin Shelton
