Roos Play Host to Wyoming, Grand Canyon

Kansas City will welcome Wyoming and former WAC rival GCU to town tonight and Saturday
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Women's Basketball will look to improve upon its 1-1 start to the season this weekend as it plays host to Wyoming tonight at 6 p.m. and Grand Canyon on Saturday at 2 p.m.

- After opening the season with a loss to Southern Methodist and a convincing win over Southern Illinois, KC hosts Wyoming and Grand Canyon this weekend.
- Through two games, the Roos lead the Summit League in three-point field goal percentage, knocking down triples at a 37.8% clip. That mark is the 52nd-best in the nation.
- KC also holds the best field goal percentage in the conference, shooting at a 45.9% rate through two contests.Â
- Mandy Willems continues to be one of the biggest three-point threats in the nation, knocking down 3.0 triples per game at a 54.5% rate.
- Brooklyn McDavid has made an impact in her first two games with the Roos, averaging 13.0 points and a team-high 9.0 rebounds per game. She notched a double-double in the Roos' season-opener.
- Preseason Summit First Teamer Naomie Alnatas leads the Roos with an average of 15.5 points and 6.0 assists per game.
Wyoming Notes
- This will be the first meeting between the Roos and Cowgirls since they met in back-to-back seasons in 1989 and 1990.
- Both teams hold one win in the series, with KC winning the most recent matchup.
- The Cowgirls are coming off of a NCAA tournament qualification, winning the Mountain West tournament last season.
- Through two games, McKinley Bradshaw (14.5) and Grace Ellis (12.0) each average double-digit ppg.
Grand Canyon Notes
- The Roos and Lopes are no strangers, having competed against each other in the Western Athletic Conference until 2020.
- GCU won the most recent meeting between the two teams, snapping a six-game win streak for the Roos.
- The Lopes have begun the season with a pair of wins, with four players averaging double-digit points through two games.
