Five Things to Know
- The Roos look to bounce back from a disappointing weekend as they take on Western Illinois on Friday and Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
- With a career average of 2.6 three-pointers made per game, Emily Ivory currently holds the top spot in Kansas City history in that category. She currently stands at 186 threes made in her career, which stands at fourth place in program history.
- After failing to break the double-digit mark in both games last weekend, Naomie Alnatas will seek to get back on track against the Leathernecks. Prior to the South Dakota matchups, Alnatas had led the Roos in scoring in six-straight games.
- RaVon Nero was a bright spot for Kansas City in Saturday's game. Nero led the Roos with 12 points, connecting on 7-of-8 free throws.
- Kansas City looks to snap a five-game winning streak in the series against Western Illinois. The last time the Roos took down the WIU was on Jan. 26, 2013, a 51-50 victory.Â

- The Coyotes used 38 points in the paint to pull away from the Roos.

- The Roos and Leathernecks faced off in the first regular season game of Head Coach Jacie Hoyt's KC career with WIU coming away with the 90-71 victory.
- The score was 67-61 after three quarters, but the Leathernecks used a 33-point fourth quarter to pull away.
- Western Illinois was on fire from the field, scoring six players in double digits. The Roos had five players score at least 10, but only received one point from the other three players that reached the floor.
- KC's Kiana Law came away with a double-double, posting 11 points and 12 rebounds.
All-Time Series vs. Western Illinois: WIU leads, 27-19
- The Roos and Leathernecks are common foes, with this weekend marking the 48th and 49th meetings between the two teams.
- WIU have won the last five matchups, but prior to that the Roos had taken eight-of-nine.
- The teams have gone to overtime three times in the past, with Kansas City winning all three.Â
- The Roos' highest-scoring game against WIU came on Jan. 2, 1993, when Kansas City took down the Leathernecks, 92-58.

Western Illinois Scouting Report
- The Leathernecks are a stellar three-point shooting team, knocking down 90 on the season. That mark is good for tops in the Summit and 17th in Division One.
- 2019-20 Summit Newcomer of the Year, Evan Zars, leads WIU with 11.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
- Two other Leathernecks score in double digits, Grace Gilmore (10.9) and Danni Nichols (10.7).
- With 43 assists on the year, Gilmore also leads Western Illinois' passing game.
