Evergy and Truman Medical Center Added as Founding Partners; Roo Athletic Fund Hits Milestone of 500 Members
Kansas City Athletics welcomed Two Founding Partners as cornerstones of the rebirth of the department, Truman Medical Center (TMC) and Evergy. The "Official Healthcare Provider of Kansas City Athletics," TMC helps Roo student-athletes by providing quality, comprehensive care and education about living their healthiest lives. With Evergy, the partnership is a mix of philanthropic support, community engagement and marketing, as well as the creation of a Women's Leadership Program that will enable both parties to create programming for young women on the importance of sport in their lives, educations and careers.
The Roo Athletic Fund (RAF), which is the annual fundraising arm of Kansas City Athletics, reached a significant milestone of securing 500 athletic-specific donors in February. In less than one year, the RAF posted a 380% increase in the donor base which amounted to 523 donors. Fundraising dollars increased $1.6M during that same period, assisting with student-athlete scholarships, sports performance enhancements, capital projects, and more. The athletic department will launch a new campaign in the spring with a goal of reaching 1,000 athletic-specific donors by March of 2021. To learn more and donate to the RAF, CLICK HERE.
