Kansas City Softball vs. SIUE Games Canceled

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Today's double-header against SIUE has been canceled due to field conditions from rain the previous day. Another field option was introduced, but SIUE declined to play on it. Kansas City softball will be back in action this weekend for the Jayhawk Invitational in Lawrence, Kan. While there, the Roos will face Tulsa on Saturday at 12 p.m. and Kansas at 2:30 p.m.. Then on Sunday, they will face Tulsa at 11 am and Kansas at 1:30 p.m.

The Kansas City Roos softball team dominated the Western Illinois Leathernecks with an 8–0 shutout victory, during their second home game of the season. The Roos set the tone early and never let up, controlling the game from the first pitch to the final out. Strong performances in the circle and at the plate fueled the win, giving the Roos a statement victory at home. The team will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup.

The UMKC Kangaroos opened their home schedule with a doubleheader against the Creighton Bluejays, marking the first home games of the season. Creighton took the first matchup with a final score of 6-2, putting the Roos on the board with an early loss before the teams returned to the field for game two. UMKC fought to keep momentum going into the second game as they looked to bounce back in front of the home crowd. The Roos ultimately fell in the nightcap as well, with the final score of game two ending at 9-0.
