
UMKC Graduate Joins KC Athletics Staff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Athletics announced the hire of Kylee Nicolay (née Timberlake) as the new Director of Game Operations, Events and Championships. Kylee received her Graduate Degree in Sports Administration in 2019 at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During her time in graduate school, she was the game operations graduate assistant.
"I am excited to continue my passion for athletics in my career," said Nicolay. "I am so thankful for this opportunity and all of those who have helped me get here."
Some of her focused duties at Kansas City will center around elevating the game-day experience for student-athletes, coaches, student body and fans. Also, she will manage large events such as conference championships on campus.
She spent over two years at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Office recently (2017-19) where she advanced from a Championships Intern, to Eligibility Center manager, to Championship Coordinator.
Kylee played college softball at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kan., and received her bachelor's degree in 2015. She served as the assistant softball coach at Kansas Wesleyan from 2014-16. She also made coaching stops at Lathrop (Mo.) High School (2019) and Bonner Springs High School (2017).
She is an active member of the Women Leaders in College Sports and volunteered for local sporting events such as the NCAA Final Four Volleyball Championship and the CBE Hall of Fame Basketball Classic.
Kylee lives in Liberty, Mo., and is married to Cassy.
