Season Highlights
- Kansas City finishes its three-game road stretch in Omaha on Wednesday night, trying to come home with a winning record.
- The Roos continued their win-loss trend, using a 10-point second half comeback to beat George Mason before falling flat against RV/#19 Missouri State.
- Kansas City's 4-4 start is the best since 2016-17, when the Roos began the season 5-3.
- The Roos are currently second in the WAC in field goal percentage and third in points per game, averaging 70.1 points on 42.4% shooting.
- Kansas City leads the WAC and are 41st nationally in blocks per game (4.8), unchartered territory for the Roos. Last year they finished fifth in the conference, averaging 2.7.
- Following Wednesday's game, the Roos will return home for a pair of big games, hosting Missouri at the Swinney Center on Sunday before taking on Kansas State in Municipal Auditorium on Dec. 14.
Omaha Scouting Report
- Omaha and Kansas City will preview a dual that will be prominent over the next few years as the Roos make the switch to the Summit League in 2020.
- The Mavericks are off to a 3-5 start, most recently falling to VCU and defeating Mississippi Valley State in the Southern Mississippi Classic.
- Omaha has had an even scoring output to begin the season, led by Claire Killian, who averages 10.5 points per game. Eight Mavs average above 5 ppg.
- Josie Flier returned this season as the team's leading rebounder. She missed the Mavs' five games this season but has averaged 3.3 rpg in her first three games.
- Omaha is outshooting their opponents this year, hitting on 42.1% of their field goals and averaging over six threes/game.Â
- The Mavs have been turnover prone to begin the year, giving away 20.4 free possessions per game. Look for the Roos, who average 7.3 steals per game, to exploit this.
