DENVER, Colo. - Kansas City senior outside hitter Alicia Harrington just continues to add to her Roo legacy. The Cedar Falls, Iowa native has already etched her name in the Kansas City record books: with 1,237 (and counting) career kills, she ranks third in program history, and is also top 10 in program history in kills per set (3.18). She can add another honor to her list of accomplishments, as her performance versus Chicago State last Thursday was enough to earn her Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 28-Nov. 3.
The award is the second Player of the Week honor for Harrington in her Kansas City career, the first coming after a sweep of Chicago State during her sophomore year. This time around, she earned the award by tearing apart the Cougars for 16 kills on a season-high .406 hitting. Her line of 6.17 points per set and 5.33 kills per set were the highest clips in the WAC for the week. The performance was enough to move her up a spot to third in the conference in kills per set.Â
Harrington will look to keep moving up in the record books as she closes out her senior year. The Roos have five regular-season matches remaining before they kick off the WAC Tournament in Orem, Utah on November 21.
