KANSAS CITY, Mo. - On National Letter of Intent Signing Day, Kansas City volleyball announced the signing of three future Roos: Ashia Dorsey, Carly Gillen and Emma Crouch.
Ashia Dorsey | Middle Hitter | 5-11 | Frisco, Texas | Lebanon Trail HS
High School: Aided team to 30-10 record … Named Most Valuable Person and Most Valuable Player on Lebanon Trail team … Made Sawyer Camillo All-Tournament Team … Honored on All-District Team … Averaged 1.8 kills per set on .275 hitting and .8 blocks per set.
Personal: Born April 27, 2002 in Chicago, Ill. … Parents Gerald and Sherlyn Dorsey … Two siblings, Mahogany and Mizan … Member of Trail Blazer Leadership Group … Plans to major in Business.
Coach Posey: "Ashia's athleticism will allow her to play a couple different positions. She is quick and strong as an attacker and she is a disciplined blocker. A determined and well rounded student-athlete, Ashia will excel in several areas as a Roo."
Carly Gillen | Middle Hitter | 6'1 | Monmouth, Ill. | Monmouth-Roseville HS
High School: In her Monmouth-Roseville career, she totaled 1,200 kills, 460 blocks and 560 digs … Two year captain … Named MVP of team … Four year All-Conference honors … 14 All-Tournament Selections … Two year All-Area All-Star … First Team All-State in basketball junior year.
Personal: Born Aug. 30, 2001 in Galesburg, Ill. … Daughter of Matthew and Jevanie Gillen … Three siblings, Connor, Sam and Mattison … Played club ball for Platform Elite … Four year High Honor Roll student … Plans to major in Health Science.
Coach Posey: "Carly is a strong middle with a passion to block balls. We believe she will develop into a successful attacker in front of and behind the setter. Her slide attacking drew us to her but we saw great potential in her as a shut down middle as well."
Emma Crouch | Middle Hitter/Right Side | 6'0 | Elkhorn, Neb. | Elkhorn HS
High School: Accumulated 504 kills, 88 aces and 227 total blocks in high school career … Three year Eastern Midland Conference Honorable Mention player … Named team captain senior year … Lettered all four years of high school … Also earned three letters in track, including a 2019 state berth.
Personal: Born Sept. 23, 2001 in Omaha, Neb. … Daughter of Jeff and Lisa Crouch … Two siblings, Zach and Josh … Played club for Premier Volleyball … Named Academic All-State in junior year … Plans to major in Nursing.
