UMKC in Second After Opening Round at Little Rock Classic

HOT VILLAGE SPRINGS, Ark. – UMKC women's golf is in second place out of 16 teams following a strong performance on the first day of the Little Rock Golf Classic at the Diamante Country Club. The Roos shot an 8-over par 296 and trail UTEP by only one stroke for the tournament lead.
Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) is tied for third individually after shooting a 1-under 71 while Chandler Gallagher (Kansas City, Mo.) is tied for seventh following a 1-over 73.
“It was a great start to the event,” head coach Brianna Broderick said. “We have 36 more holes to play and are looking to take it up a notch tomorrow in an effort to be in position to win on Tuesday.”
Mackenzie Black (Independence, Iowa) shot 75 (+3) while Cyrielle Kern (Cuvry, France) carded a 77 (+5). Maria Henao (Pereira, Colombia) shot 78 (+6).
June Ting from UTEP and Rachel Johnson of Missouri State are tied for the individual lead at 2-under, a stroke ahead of Diaz.
UMKC's tee times in Monday's second round begin at 9:50 a.m. CT.
