(Arlington, Texas) – UT-Arlington made the most of six hits and four Kansas City errors en route to an 8-0 victory over the Kangaroos in the final game of the UT Hilton Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
The Mavericks got on the board in the bottom of the first with an unearned run and tacked on three more in the third on the strength of two doubles and a homerun.
The 'Roos struggled at the plate, collecting just four hits in the first four innings off of UTA starter Callie Collins. Shannon Carrico replaced Collins in the fifth and did not allow a hit over the final two visiting frames.
Cinda Ramos and Katie Kelley combined to pitch five innings, allowing six hits and seven earned runs.
Kansas City will return to the diamond next weekend with a trip to Cape Girardeau, Mo., for the All-Missouri Cancer Classic hosted by SEMO.
