Opponent Preview
North Dakota State enters the contest with a 9-17 record overall and a 6-8 mark in Summit League play after falling South Dakota 53-40 on Saturday. On the season, five Bison are averaging more than eight points per game, including Abby Plucker (10.2), Dani DeGagne (10.1), Jamie Van Kirk (8.4), Janae Burich (10.0) and Hannah Linz (8.1). As a team, NDSU is out-rebounding its opponents by over three per game and out-shooting them from three-point range 31.3 percent to 31.1percent.

North Dakota State holds a 6-4 series lead against the 'Roos. Last season, the Bison swept the meetings, winning 71-59 in Kansas City and 70-65 in Fargo. This season, the 'Roos won for the first time ever in Fargo, 76-58.
Whitaker Against the Bison
UMKC Head Coach Candace Whitaker has led the 'Roos in all 10 meetings against the Bison, picking up wins over NDSU on Jan. 7, 2009 68-2, Jan,. 9, 2010 73-64, Mar. 7, 2010 76-75 and on Jan. 16 this season, 76-58.
First Meeting
The UMKC women's basketball team (13-6, 4-3) picked up its first ever win in Fargo with a 76-58 win on Monday night over North Dakota State (7-13, 4-4) at Bison Sports Arena behind a career-high 24 points by senior LeAndrea Thomas.
The Kansas City, Mo., native Thomas finished the game 11-of-19 from the field, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, while adding three assists, three steals, two rebounds and a block.
Senior Dayon Hall-Jones added 15 points for the Kangaroos, while junior Kim Nezianya chipped in 12 points and six rebounds. Guard Eilise O'Connor, meanwhile, filled the stat sheet, as the sophomore grabbed nine rebounds, dished out eight assists and scored six points, while fellow sophomore Hailey Houser finished with 10 points off the bench.
As a team, the 'Roos scored 27 points off 20 NDSU turnovers, while out-scoring the Bison 36-20 in the paint. Defensively, UMKC limited North Dakota State to just 36.5 percent shooting, including 12.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Last Time Out
The UMKC women's basketball team (15-10, 6-7) fell in heartbreaking fashion, 79-73, on Saturday night to South Dakota State (18-7, 13-1) at the Swinney Recreation Center after holding a 15 point first half lead.
Junior Kim Nezianya led the Kangaroo effort with 16 points, five rebounds and three steals, senior Dayon Hall-Jones and sophomore Eilise O'Connor each chipped in 12 points.
Defensively, UMKC forced 20 Jackrabbit turnovers, including nine on steals, while limiting SDSU to just 41.5 percent shooting from the field.
Senior LeAndrea Thomas finished with nine points, five assists, four rebounds, four steals and a block, while sophomore Ashli Hill added eight points, two blocks and a team-high six rebounds.
