
'Roos Fall 5-2 To Southern Utah

Las Vegas, Nev. -- The UMKC women's tennis team (5-11, 2-2) dropped its Summit League match with Southern Utah (6-2, 2-1) on Saturday morning in Las Vegas. Freshman Gabriela Pintos and sophomore Laura Bouet picked up the two 'Roo wins, with Pintos downing Afton Staheli, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6 and Bouet defeating Alex Ivanova 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-4) at No. 2.
At No. 1, Eva Dalvai fell to Ksusha Nazarova, 6-2, 6-4, while Chelsea Horner lost to Olia Tatarchenko at No. 3, 6-2, 6-4. Suzan Lisenby, meanwhile, fell to Kirrily Burden, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) at No. 4 and Jillian Yakominich lost to Danica Ingwaldson at No. 5, 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles action,Yakominich and Pintos teamed to defeat Inwaldson and Staheli, 8-3 at No. 3. The 'Roos No. 1 pairing of Dalvai and Horner, meanwhile, lost to Nazarova and Tatarchenko, 8-4, while Bouet and Lisenby lost to Ivanova and Burden at No. 2, 9-8 (7-3).
The Gold and Blue will be back in action again on Monday when they welcome in Southwest Baptist to Kansas City on Monday.
