Hartsock Named Summit League Player of the Week

Elmhurst, Ill. -- UMKC men's basketball player Jeremiah Hartsock has been named The Summit League Player of the Week, it was announced today by the league office. The senior earned the accolade after scoring career highs in points (16) and rebounds (8) in the Kangaroos' first regular season game at No. 4 Kansas on Sunday night.
The Bartlesville, Okla., native connected on 6-of-7 shot attempts against the Jayhawks, which included the first three-pointer of his career. The six field goals are also a career-best for the senior forward. Hartsock's 16-point scoring output doubles his previous career-high of eight points, which he had tallied on a pair of occasions.
It is also the first such honor of Hartsock's career in Blue and Gold.
UMKC will return to action on Tuesday night when it faces Washburn in its home opener at Municipal Auditorium beginning at 7:05 p.m.
