Roos Go 1-2 At The Battle For Missouri Ending Conference Play With A 6-6 Record

Wattre surpasses 400 kill mark at the Battle For Missouri
Kansas City, - MO The Roos end their non conference schedule going 1-2 while hosting the Battle For Missouri picking up a Win against Saint Louis University (3-0) while falling to SEMO (0-3) and Missouri State (0-3). The Roos finish their non conference schedule 6-6.
Ryanne Wattree led the offensive attack throughout the weekend with a total of 30 kills hitting at a .274 clip. Her standout performance of the weekend was against Saint Louis, Wattree had 13 kills hitting at a .480 clip. She also passed a career milestone halfway through the match reaching a career total of 400 kills. Defensively Chloe Kaminski was the anchor for the Roos with a weekend high of 15 digs against Missouri State. Her total continues to climb to 209 and looks to continue increasing that total as they head into conference play.
Game 1 - Missouri State: The Roos fought hard but ultimately fell short against the Bears 3-0 (20-25, 17-25, 23-25). On the offensive side, Stella Smith took charge with 9 kills hitting at a .348 clip while continuing to uphold her reputation as one of the league's best blockers with 5 blocks. Chloe Kaminiski held it down on defense with 15 digs leading the Roos back-row production.
Game 2 - Saint Louis:Â The Roos clapped back after a hard fought loss, defeating Saint Louis in a sweep 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-20). Offensively, Wattree dominated with 13 kills hitting at a .480 clip pushing her to 400 career kills. Mia Weaver's 3 aces were crucial in dominating victory with a team total of 10 aces. On the defensive end, the back line was protected by Kaminski's 12 digs, while Mila Zoric's impact was felt on every end of the court with 3 blocks, 3 kills, 3 digs, and 2 aces developing as an emerging player for the Roos.
Game 3 - South East Missouri:Â Kansas City faced the Red Hawks to end the Battle for Missouri, unable to take away the win 3-0 (16-25, 19-25, 15-25). Wattree and Emry Brown took charge on the offensive side with a combined 17 kills. While Zoric held a defensive stance at the net with 3 blocks and Kamiski's 12 digs in the back court.
The Roos open up their Summit League schedule against Oral Roberts, Saturday September 26th 1:00 pm at Swinney Center.Â
