
Kansas City Signs Lili Szabo

Szabo is the Roos second true freshman signee
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Women's Basketball has signed their first true freshman of the 2026 recruiting cycle, putting pen to paper with Lili Szabo, the program announced today. Szabo is a 5'5 guard from Sopron, Hungary and played for the Life Prep Academy in Wichitan, Kan. before committing to the Roos.
"For me choosing a college is to find the right fit for growth as a player and person. Stepping on campus, I felt the winning culture," Szabo said. "I believe this amazing staff is building a winner team, and I wanted to be a part of that journey. I also value Kansas City's strong connection to its city. Being part of a program that represents an entire city is something special and motivates me to compete at my highest level. I have developed discipline, competitiveness, and a strong work ethic. I am ready to contribute to a program like Kansas City, where I can continue to grow, compete, and help build something meaningful."
Szabo heads to the Roos as the #5 player in the state of Kansas and the top point guard in the class of 2026 according to Prep Hoops. While at Life Prep Academy, Szabo was won her team's MVP award in 2024, 2025 and took home Conoco Phillips Arves All-Tournament Team in 2025-26. Szabo averaged 23.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in her high school career, also setting the school record for most three pointers in a single game, knocking down 10 in one contest.
The Sopron, Hunary native played for several club teams, including Missouri Phenom 17U EYCL in 2024 and Missouri Phenom Wichita 17U in 2025 under Jeff Henry.
