
Bennett Twins Return to Kansas City

The Roos will retain the pair of Summit All-League guards heading into the 2026-27 season
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Women's Basketball has retained two of the most crucial parts of the program, as both Emani Bennett and Elauni Bennett have decided to return to Kansas City for their senior seasons in 2026-27.
Both local products out of Lee's Summit, Mo., the Bennett sisters have made a staunch impact on the since joining the Roos out of high school in 2023. In three seasons with KC, the pair have combined for over 1,888 points, 917 rebounds and 158 assists across 187 games played.
This past season, Em. Bennett remained the Roos go-to scorer in the backcourt. The junior guard averaged a team-best 14.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game and was recognized as an All-League Honorable Mention by the Summit League. Em. Bennett was one of the top shot makers in the conference, finishing sixth in the Summit in scoring average.
Furthermore, Em. Bennett became the 18th one thousand point scorer in program history and the fourth fastest to reach the mark, doing so on Jan. 15 against Oral Roberts. Em. Bennett finished her third season tied for 12th on the Kansas City all-time scoring list, sitting at 1,166 career points.
The 2025-26 season was a breakout one for El. Bennett as the junior guard posted a career-best 12.7 points, team-best 7.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game while being named to the All-League Second Team by the Summit League. Additionally, El. Bennett led the conference in offensive rebounding, collecting 4.1 per contest which was also the seventh highest mark in the country.
El. Bennett put together eight double-doubles, five of which came against Summit foes this past year. The former Lee's Summit West product also shot a remarkable 58.1% from the field, the third highest shooting percentage marker in the Summit and the 18th best in all of college basketball.
