
Men's Basketball Signs Sebastian Hartmann

The German native is transferring from Chattanooga
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Men's Basketball has added its first transfer to the signing class of 2026, introducing Sebastian Hartmann today. Hartmann spent last season at Chattanooga, but previously crossed paths with Assistant Coach Will Turgeon at Eastern Washington.
"I chose Kansas City because of the opportunity to build something special in a great city," Hartmann said. "The staff has incredible coaching experience and I have great familiarity with Coach Turgeon and Will Turgeon."
Last season at Chattanooga, he played in seven games, making six starts before an injury took him out for the rest of the year. He scored a season-high 11 points in a win over North Alabama on Nov. 22 and pulled down a season-high eight rebounds on two separate occasions. On the year, he averaged 7.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Hartmann spent his first two seasons at Eastern Washington and was a team captain during his second season. He started in 25-of-30 appearances his sophomore year, going for a career-high 20 points in a win over Lincoln (CA) on Dec. 21. He scored in double digits 14 times and finished the season with an average of 9.3 points per game, shooting 51.0% from the floor and 35.8% from three.
He saw action in 32 games throughout his freshman campaign, averaging 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.Â
Throughout his prep career, Hartmann played for several different German clubs and the U18 National Team. He aided Germany to an 11th-place finish at the 2022 U18 Euro Championships, averaging over six points and three rebounds per contest. He spent time with MHP Reisen in 2022, playing in the Bundesliga top league, the NBBL U19 and ProB III. He averaged 18.9 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists in NBBL U19 play and appeared in four games with the top-level team.
Hartmann was born on Sep. 20, 2004 in Rosenheim, Germany to parents Roland and Britta Hartmann. He has one sibling, Jana.
