KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Athletics will host its annual Giving Day on March 3 & 4, inviting alumni, fans, businesses and community supporters to come together in support of Roo student-athletes and Kansas City's only NCAA Division I athletics program.Â
Supporters may begin giving now, with all gifts given prior to and on March 3 & 4 counting toward official Giving Day campaign totals. Early participation allows donors to make an immediate impact while helping build momentum leading into the two-day, community-wide effort.
This momentum is further energized by the recent announcement of Mark Turgeon as the new head coach for Kansas City men's basketball, which has generated strong excitement and positive feedback throughout the Kansas City community. At the same time, Kansas City men's soccer continues to elevate the program's national profile, earning back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and capturing Summit League tournament and regular season titles - clear indicators the KC Athletics is ready to take its next step forward.
Giving Day comes at a pivotal moment for Kansas City Athletics as the department continues to strengthen its programs, elevate the student-athlete experience and deepen its connection to the Kansas City community. Contributions of all sizes support scholarships, academic excellence, competitive opportunities, health and wellness resources, career readiness initiatives and life-skills programming that prepare student-athletes for success during and after their collegiate careers.
Kansas City Athletics supports and develops more than 200 student-athletes across 14 varsity sports, representing future professionals across healthcare, business, education, engineering, law, public service and entrepreneurship.
