
Notes: Kansas City Aims to Continue Winning Ways in Denver

- Headed into a pivotal clash with Denver, Kansas City Women's Basketball is finding their footing in conference play as the Roos come off an emphatic 75-60 win over St. Thomas which led them back to the .500 mark (3-3) in Summit League action. Â
- Elauni Bennett has been on a tear recently, boasting double-double performances in each of the Roos' last two games. In this stretch, Bennett averaged 20 PPG, 11 RPG and shot 64.3% from the field. Bennett's breakout season is noticeable as the junior from Lee's Summit, Mo. has five games of 20-plus points this season and six double-doubles.Â
- Zaire Harrell has been on a hot streak the last three games. Harrell tied her career-high of 22 points in a 77-56 win over North Dakota and registered her first career double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-60 win over St. Thomas. Harrell is averaging 16 PPG and 8.7 RPG while shooting 50% overall in this span.Â
- Emani Bennett has a history of big-time scoring outbursts against Denver, firing up a career-high 30 points on 50% shooting (11-22) on the road in the two teams most recent matchup back in February. Bennett also recorded 21 points and grabbed six rebounds in an overtime win over Denver last season.Â
- The Roos swept Denver in the season series last year for the first time since the 2021-22 season in the Jackson-Durrett era. Both games were decided by single digit margins with the Roos reaching an identical point total of 73 in both matchups. Â
Denver Notes
- Denver is 7-11 overall this season while holding a 1-4 record in Summit League action. The Pios are on a four game losing streak dating back to a 64-57 win over North Dakota on New Year's Day.Â
- Denver is 6-3 at home overall and 1-1 at Hamilton Gymnasium against conference opponents this season. The Pioneers are 5-2 at home against the Roos in all-time matchups and have never dropped two in a row to the Roos on their home floor.Â
- Coryn Watts is second in the Summit League in scoring, averaging 19.6 points per game. Watts plays 35.5 minutes per game and has taken 300 field goal attempts this year, both leading the conference and top 20 marks nationally.Â
- Denver brings a chip on their shoulder to the table as the Pios were picked to finish last in the Summit League Preseason Poll, gathering 101 points in total.Â
