Kansas City Notes
- Coming off a massive 77-56 win over North Dakota, Kansas City rounds out the road trip with a visit to Tulsa, Okla. where the Roos will face Oral Roberts on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT for the first time this season.Â
- Kansas City comes off their most well rounded performance of the season as the Roos forced 24 turnovers, the most generated in a Summit contest this year. With the help of excellent free throw shooting (87%, 20-23) and a big scoring night from the bench (20 pts), KC got back to .500 in Summit League play.Â
- Zaire Harrell was the star of the show last Saturday, tying her career-high in scoring by putting up 22 points which led all scorers against North Dakota. Harrell also shot 67% (6-9) from the field and 83% (10-12) from the free throw line while grabbing nine rebounds to come a board shy of her first career double-double.
- KC's leading scorer Emani Bennett is one point shy of the 1,000 career points milestone. The junior guard out of Lee's Summit, Mo. sits at 999 career points in 80 games played with 69 career starts. Bennett would be the 18th player in program history to achieve the feat and could do so in the fourth fewest games played. Â
- Kansas City's most played opponent in program history is Oral Roberts with 39 total games played between the two programs. The Roos and Golden Eagles storied history began in 1988 with the Roos winning five of the first six all-time matchups. KC's last win was a 65-54 victory on Jan. 7, 2023 in the Swinney Center.
- Oral Roberts comes into Thursday night's clash sitting at 2-2 in the Summit League and 9-8 overall. The Golden Eagles are 6-2 at home so far this season.Â
- ORU has won the last five matchups played in Tulsa, Okla. against the Roos dating back to the 2020-21 season. The Golden Eagles have also won the last six games overall vs. Kansas City, three of which came in the 2024-25 season.Â
- The Golden Eagles last three games were decided by an average scoring margin of 25.7 points as ORU's last contest was a 76-103 loss to South Dakota State. Prior to that, Oral Roberts took down both South Dakota 83-61 and North Dakota 95-67.Â
- Oral Roberts generates 10.2 steals per game and 20.4 forced turnovers per game, both Summit-leading marks. ORU's leading scorer is Anna Trusty who averaged 16.5 points per game, the fourth best mark in the conference.Â
