
Delfina Zolesio Named Summit League Peak Performer of the Week

Zolesio scored three goals on the week, adding an assist against Tulsa
SIOUX FALLS - Following a week that saw her tally three goals and an assist across a pair of games, Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco has been selected as the Summit League's Offensive Peak Performer of the Week. It is the first weekly honor of Zolesio's Kansas City career following a record-breaking five-year career at Columbia College.
Zolesio was in on the action of KC's 3-2 win over Lindenwood on Aug. 28, scoring in the 24th minute and then again in the 40th minute. Her brace against the Lions gave her five goals over a two-game span, tying the most in program history. She tallied her first assist of the season on Ashley Koch's 2nd minute goal against Tulsa on Sunday, finding the back of the net once again in the 45th minute.
With six goals in six games, Zolesio now sits atop the Summit League leader boards in goals and goals per game. She is also tied for the league high in points and points per game.
Zolesio is the first Roo to win a Summit League weekly award this season and the first to win Offensive Peak Performer since Adriana Benassi on Sep. 23 of last season.
The Roos are back in action at Durwood Soccer Stadium on Thursday, playing Marquette in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
