Kenny Yedmel Grabs Summit Weekly Honor

Yedmel played 180 minutes in KC's back line last week, keeping the Roos undefeated
SIOUX FALLS - Kansas City Men's Soccer grabbed a top-25 win against Missouri State and battled for a draw against Saint Mary's last week and Kenny Yedmel was in the back line for all 180 minutes. His efforts helped him earn Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week honors, the first of his collegiate career.
Yedmel has started in every game so far this season for the Roos, playing all but 14 minutes of the young season. He helped limit Kansas City's opponents to just one goal per game last week, including a win over No. 24 Missouri State, the Roos' second-straight result against a ranked opponent. In KC's draw with Saint Mary's on Aug. 29, Yedmel led the Roos defense in holding the Gaels to just six total shots on the night.
Yedmel is the first Roo to win the Summit League's weekly honor this season and the first since Jeremy Francou and Brandon McGaugh on Nov. 11 of last season. He is the first non-goalkeeping Roo to win the league's defensive honor since Seth Kacich on Oct. 17 of 2022.
The Roos are back in action on the road on Friday evening, taking on Portland.
