The Roos will play 17 games, including eight at Durwood Soccer Stadium
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Men's Soccer is coming off the best season in program history and the Roos are ready to take the next step forward, releasing their full 2025 schedule today. The schedule is jam-packed with fresh challenges, continued rivalries and high-level play for fans to enjoy. Highlighting the opposition are six games against 2024 NCAA Tournament teams, including five games against squads that finished in the RPI Top 25 last season.
Tickets for all men's soccer home games are available now at kcroos.com/MSOCtix.
Following a pair of exhibition contests to tune things up, the Roos jump right into action on the road on Aug. 21, taking on Southern Methodist. The Mustangs advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals last season and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament in three consecutive seasons. KC was the best road team in the nation last year, piling up nine wins away from home.
Home play kicks off on Aug. 25 for a meeting with a familiar foe in Missouri State. This will be the 33rd meeting in the all-time series between the Roos and the Bears, two of which occurred last season. After an early season win over the Bears, KC took down MSU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, earning its bid to the Round of 16.
KC remains in the confines of Durwood Soccer Stadium for two more games after that, hosting a pair of teams that the Roos defeated on the road last year. Saint Mary's comes to town on Aug. 29, followed by a match up against Northern Illinois on Sep. 1. Those games will be featured as Camper Reunion games, welcoming back 2025 KC Roos Men's Soccer campers for a chance to see the team in action.
Kansas City takes on Portland on Sep. 5, traveling to Oregon for the first-ever meeting between the Roos and the Pilots.
The Roos' rivalry with Drake will continue on Sep. 9 as the Bulldogs come to Durwood for a battle. The two sides have met 35 times in the past, including once in each of the past three seasons. Kansas City will look for revenge on last season's 2-0 loss, one of just five games that the Roos lost all year.Â
KC will hit the road for back-to-back games against a pair of 2024 conference champions, playing at San Diego on Sep. 13 and SIUe on Sep. 17. San Diego won the West Coast Conference last year, eventually advancing to the Round of 16. SIUe won the Ohio Valley regular season and tournament championships for their second-straight NCAA appearance.
The final game before the start of Summit League play will come at home on Sep. 21 against Western Illinois, a former league foe. The Roos are 6-0-1 against the Leathernecks in the last seven meetings, dating back to 2019.
Summit League competition opens with a rematch of last year's thrilling Summit League Championship game. The Roos took down Denver on a 90th-minute game-winner in the finals, propelling the team's postseason run. This year, KC will travel to the Mile High City on Sep. 27, kicking off conference play with a bang.
Kansas City's October schedule begins with a game at home against Omaha, two teams that have proven to be evenly matched over recent years. Four of the last six meetings between the Roos and the Mavs have ended in a draw, with each side claiming one win in the other two.
League play continues on the road at Oral Roberts on Oct. 11 before a home contest against St. Thomas on Oct. 18.
KC's final two non-conference games of the year come on Oct. 22 and 26. The Roos travel to Tulsa first for a rematch of last year's 4-0 victory. Then comes a trip to Michigan State, a team that ended the 2024 season ranked No. 89 in RPI.
The Roos will take on challenges against a pair of new Summit League teams to close out the regular season, beginning with a Nov. 1 road trip to UMass. The Minutemen advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals last year, the final of six scheduled games against 2024 tournament teams.
The final test of the regular season will come at home against Delaware on Nov. 5, marking the first-ever meeting between the Roos and the Blue Hens.
Kansas City's quest for a second-straight Summit League championship will begin with a semifinal round on Nov. 9 before the finals on Nov. 15. Both games will be played on campus sites, hosted by the highest-seeded team.
