The Roos will play 11 home games and will host the 2024 Summit League Championships
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Volleyball has officially released its schedule for the 2024 season, as was announced today. The Roos, fresh off a 2023 Summit League Regular Season Championship, will host 11 games in the Swinney Center, and will welcome the Summit League Championships to town in late November. Single game and season tickets are available immediately.
The Roos will prepare for the season by hosting their annual alumni scrimmage on Aug. 17. The event will include game play and a social gathering afterwards, connecting past and present Roos.
The regular season begins with three-straight tournaments on the road. Beginning with the Utah Valley Tournament on Aug. 30-31, the Roos will play UVU, Eastern Washington and Bakersfield. The following weekend, KC will travel to Houston for matches against Houston Christian, Howard and New Mexico. On Sep. 13-14, Kansas City will take on Missouri and UT Martin in a tournament hosted by the Tigers.
Kansas City's home opener will come on Sep. 20 and 21 in the form of the 17th iteration of the Kangaroo Classic. This will be the third-straight year that KC has hosted an in-season tournament, with a field consisting of Lindenwood, Montana and Bradley. This will mark Lindenwood's first time competing in the Kangaroo Classic, while Montana has made one previous appearance and Bradley has been in the field twice. The Roos will open play against the Lions on the 20th at 1 p.m., will follow up with a game against the Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. and will wrap things up by taking on the Braves at 2 p.m. on the 21st.
The Roos will open Summit League play in the Swinney Center, welcoming North Dakota for a match at 1 p.m. on Sep. 28. The rest of the regular season will consist of league play, with KC playing against all eight league opponents at home and away. The regular season will end in Kansas City as well as the Roos host Omaha for a Senior Day match on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.
For the second time in program history, and the first time as a member of the Summit League, Kansas City will play host for the Summit League Championships, occurring from Nov. 24-26. The Roos earned the right to host by claiming the No. 1 overall seed in last season's championship, and will welcome the league's top six teams to town for a chance to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
