Roos Set Program Steals Record in Drubbing of Westminster

Emani Bennett scored 22 points and Elauni Bennett went for 21 rebounds in the win
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Women's Basketball (4-11) handled business in a major way against Westminster (5-5) this afternoon, downing the Blue Jays, 103-49. The Roos led nearly the entire way, building a lead as big as 58 points and surpassing the 100-point mark for the first time this season.
Five Kansas City players scored in double-digits, led by Emani Bennett with 22, her fourth 20-point game this season. Her twin sister Elauni Bennett notched her second double-double of the season, going for 11 points and 21 rebounds. Joining the Bennetts in double-digits were Alayna Contreras with 17, Tamia Ugass with 16 and Kelby Bannerman with 12.

STATS TO NOTE
- El. Bennett's 21 rebounds were within three of Kansas City's all-time record and were the most since Nov. 11, 2022. Her 10 offensive boards were the most by a Roo since at least the 2002-03 season, according to Sports Reference.
- Kansas City logged 31 steals on the afternoon, a new program record. The previous record was 21, set against NE Illinois on Jan. 8, 1998. The Roos' 31 steals are tied for the fourth-most by a Division One team this season.
- The Roos went for over 100 points for the first time since scoring 121 against Kansas Christian on Dec. 18, 2023 and just the second time ever under Head Coach Dionnah Jackson-Durrett.
- Em. Bennett now has four games of 20-plus point scoring this season and has scored in double digits in 12-of-15 games this year.
