Roos Open Four-Game Road Stretch in Lawrence

The Roos and the Jayhawks tip off tomorrow at 6 p.m.
THE STARTERS
- Emani Bennett had a standout performance for the Roos against Idaho State, knocking down 23 points. Saturday's performance marks her second 20-point performance of the year and the fifth of her career.
- The Roos rank 18th in the nation for offensive rebounds averaging 15.9 per game. Zaire Harrell led the team in offensive rebounds against Idaho State with six. Harrell improved her previous career-high in rebounds by three, bringing down a total of 10 rebounds against the Bengals.Â
- Kansas City had its best three-point performance of the season against Idaho State, knocking down a season-high six threes. Alayna Contreras, Em. Bennett and Ana Oliveira Dias earned two a piece. KC's performance marks the first time since Feb. 15, that three or more Roos have knocked down at least one three.Â
- The Blue and Gold rank 49th in the nation steals per game, led by Ana Oliveira Dias. Dias currently averages 2.9 steals per game ranks 21st in the country and first in the league. Dias earned a season-high seven steals against William Jewell on Nov. 9.Â
- KC is still looking to solidify its starting lineup with a different lineup in all four of its last games. Alayna Contreras and Emani Bennett have been staples in the lineup making starts in all 10 games. They are joined by Ana Oliveira Dias, Zaire Harrell and Elauni Bennett who have made appearances in all 10 games.Â
SCOUTING KANSAS
- The Jayhawks enter Wednesday's game on a four-game winning streak and a 14-game home-win streak that began last season. Kansas holds a 19-4 record over the Roos with Kansas City's most recent win coming on Dec. 10, 2015, in Lawrence when the Roos defeated Kansas 47-44.
- KU picked up wins over Lindenwood, 56-43, and Omaha, 75-56. The Roos fell to Lindenwood in a tight game 67-62 and will face Omaha during conference play on Jan. 25.Â
- Kansas's lone loss was to current No. 21 Iowa 58-71 on Nov. 20, in Sioux Falls at the Sanford Pentagon, just a few minutes from the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center where the Summit League Conference will be hosted.
- The Overland Park native, S'Mya Nichols leads the Jayhawks from the field, averaging 21.1 points per game. Nichols set a season-high of 28 points in the 61-60 win over Auburn on Nov. 30.Â
