- Kansas City is 2-0 in season openers during the Jackson-Durrett era. Monday's game will mark the first season opener the Roos have played on the Road under Coach Jackson-Durrett.
- The last meeting between the Roos and Aggies was decided by one basket with Kansas City dropping the match in the Swinney Center 62-60.
- The Roos first road win last season came on Nov. 22 against Chicago State with Kansas City defeating the Cougars 77-46. Kansas City finished the season last year 2-10 on the road and 1-3 in neutral sites.
- Wednesday's game marks 17th meeting between Kansas City and Utah Valley. The Wolverines hold a 6-1 record over the Roos when they play at home, but this match-up marks the first time the teams have met in the Jackson-Durrett era.
- Kansas City's first two games will help them prepare for their 18 road games this season. The Roos have 13 home games this year, three fewer than last season and one less than the 2022-23 season.
Utah State Notes
- The Aggies enter the game with a preseason win over Westminster under their belts. Utah State defeated Westminster 94-70 with five players scoring in the double digits.
- In the past five years, the Aggies are 3-2 in their season opener and 3-2 in their home openers.
- The Roos will face former Associate Head Coach Velaida Harris in her first year as Associate Head Coach at Utah State. Prior to her time at Kansas City Harris served as Head Coach of Weber State from 2018-23.
Utah Valley Notes
- The Wolverines also open their season against the Roos on Wednesday. In the past five years they are 4-1 in season openers and 4-1 in home openers.
- Later in the season, Utah Valley faces KC's fellow Summit League competitor in Omaha. The Wolverines and the Mavericks face off on Nov. 30th in San Diego California.
- The Wolverines are scheduled in 28 games this year compared to KC who sits at 31 scheduled games.
