
KC Track & Field Team Concludes Outdoor Outings at Arkansas Twilight

Powell captueres two top-five finishes at Arkansas Twilight
Fayetteville, Ark.- The Kansas City Track & Field wraps up the regular season against a competitive field at the Arkansas Twilight, the Roos record several lifetime best Friday evening. Katherine Hanners returned to the track with vengeance as she stroms the women's 3000 meters in a time of 10:10.46 to take home first-place.Â
In the men's 100 meter dash, three Roos have themselves a successful sprint day, Freshman Keilan Powell leading the way as he clocks an impressive 10.46 seconds, for a fourth place finish. Behind him, Mason Rogers and Arvesta Schine clocked a 10.71 for a wind aided personal best and 10.96 to finish seventh and ninth. Powell later records a wind aided 21.13 for a third place finish. Logan Pratt matches his personal best of 21.69 for fifth place.Â
Caden Wehner had a season highlight with a time of 56.49 in the men's 400 meter hurdles to take home fifth place. Cyrus Laxson jumping efforts leads him to a new wind aided personal best in the men's long jump with a distance of 7.21m ( 23' 8").Â
The Roos' outdoor efforts will culminate next weekend May 11-13 Â at the Summit League Conference Championships in Fargo North Dakota.Â
