
Three Roos Named to All-Summit League Postseason Teams

Julien Le Bourdoulous headlined the lists for the Roos with First Team and All-Newcomer honors
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - After earning a postseason bid for the third time in as many years, three Kansas City Men's Soccer student-athletes were honored on the Summit League's All-League teams. Julien Le Bourdoulous was named First Team All-League in addition to earning a spot on the All-Newcomer Team, while Seth Kacich and Edson Murguia each earned Second Team All-League honors.
Julien Le Bourdoulous | First Team All-League, All-Newcomer Team
Le Bourdoulous has been a focal point of Kansas City's offensive attack all year, making 12 starts in 15 appearances and playing 1,155 minutes. In conference play, he is tied for third in the league with 20 shots, averaging 2.86 per game, and ranks seventh in shots on goal with 1.0 per game. On the season, Le Bourdoulous leads the team in assists with five, points with nine, shots with 45 and shots on goal with 15. He is one of five Roos that has scored multiple goals this season.
He made his presence felt in the Roos' first win of the season against Drake, assisting on KC's first goal of the year, scoring his own goal in the 16th minute, and assisting again on the game-winner in the 66th minute. He notched another double-assist game in the Roos' win over Creighton on Sep. 12, sending a free kick into the box and connecting with Griffin Cook for a game-winner in the 89th minute. He scored his second goal of the year at Louisville on Oct. 2, and bagged an assist in the win against Western Illinois on Oct. 18.
Seth Kacich | Second Team All-League
In his fifth season in a Kansas City uniform, Kacich has been a trusted leader for the Roos. He leads the team in minutes played at 1,414, playing a full 90 minutes in all but two contests. Kacich has been a key cog in the Roos' offensive scheme, playing the ball into the attacking third at a rate of 9.42 times per 90 minutes. He has also established himself as one of the leading defenders in the league, notching 14.0 recoveries per 90 and a winning rate of 68% in aerial duels.
From Aug. 24 through Oct. 14, if Kansas City was on the field, Kacich was on the field. He began the year by playing the first 1,151-straight minutes, making his first substitution in the 71st minute of Kansas City's win over Western Illinois. He also notched his lone point of the season in that contest, assisting on KC's second goal in the 65th minute. Kacich has attempted seven shots on the year, including a season-high three attempts in the Roos' win over St. Thomas on Oct. 28.
Edson Murguia | Second Team All-League
A Kansas City native, Murguia has been a constant force for the Roos in his junior year, making 15 starts in 16 appearances. He has played 1,187 minutes on the season, including a stretch of games from Sep. 12 through Oct. 14 that saw him play 90 minutes in 6-of-7 games. Murguia is one of three players for the Roos that has scored a team-leading three goals, all of which have come since Sep. 23. Since that point, he has scored three of KC's eight total goals.
Murguia notched his first point of the year with an assist in the Roos' draw with No. 18 SIUE on Sep. 8, and played his first 90-minute game right after that in the win over Creighton on Sep. 12. His goals have come at opportune times for KC, the first coming in the 89th minute of the draw with Omaha on Sep. 23, the second coming at No. 8 Louisville, and the third coming in game-winning fashion on a free kick in the 89th minute against St. Thomas on Oct. 28.
The Roos begin postseason play in Tulsa, Okla., taking on top-seeded No. 23 Denver in the Summit League Semifinals at 3 p.m. tomorrow. The game will be streamed live on the Summit League Network.
