Point by Point Battle Showcases Roos Aggressive Frontline

Kansas City, MO: The Kansas City Volleyball Roos (2-1) battled point for point against the Omaha Mavericks (3-2) but fell closely in the end of the 5th set (25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 14-25, 14-16).
As the first set sparked a tug-of-war of service possession, the Roos offensive attack was dominantly led by heavy hitters Melanie Brecka, Odyssey Warren and De'Janae Arnold. The aggressive play-making at the net would continue into the second set with great rhythm by setter Alli Schomers who finished the match with forty-three assists total, and an impressive twenty-two digs total from defensive specialist/libero Maddie Renn.
With the Roos two sets up to none, the third and fourth sets resulted with a shift in momentum. Due to Omaha's hot serving hand; the Roos were challenged repeatedly on their serve-receive response.
Coach Christi Posey noted the significance of their execution for the next match. "Our takeaway has to be our ability to manage errors and our response to those errors".
The Roos will look for a battle back victory versus the Mavericks this Monday February 8th in an afternoon match in Omaha, Nebraska at 4pm.
