The Roos host Haskell tomorrow at 6 p.m.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Women's Basketball puts its six-game winning streak on the line tomorrow evening as it welcomes Haskell Indian Nations to town for the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Kansas City Notes
- The Roos bring a six-game win streak to the Swinney Center, the longest winning streak since the 2019-20 Roos went on a six-game streak to clinch the conference title. A win against Haskell would match 2011-12 Roos for the third-longest winning streak since KC's move to the NCAA (longest: 10-straight in 1990-91).
- Brooklyn McDavid and Naomie Alnatas have won the past two Summit League Player of the Week awards, notching the first back-to-back weekly awards since Elise O'Connor won on Jan. 21 and 28, 2013.
- Alnatas has been a sniper from long range, knocking home 15-of-22 three-point attempts. Her mark of 68.2% shooting is the best in the nation by over 5%.
- In addition to three-point percentage, Alnatas also leads the league in assists, assist-to-turnover ratio, points, and free throw percentage.
- Kiara Bradley has made an immediate impact for Kansas City as a rock in the lineup. She is averaging a team-high 34.7 minutes per game, while posting 9.1 points and 8.4 rebounds. She has two double-doubles on the year and has broken double-digit rebounding four times.
- The Roos' front court duo of McDavid and Paige Bradford have shown their versatility beyond scoring and rebounding - McDavid ranks second on the team with seven steals while Bradford has dished 19 assists.
- KC's lone non-starter to have appeared in every game is Dani Winslow. In the win over Arlington, she logged career-highs in minutes (28) and points (9).
Haskell Notes
- Thursday will mark the first meeting between Kansas City and Haskell in program history.
- The Indians enter the game having won their last contest against William Penn, 67-65.
- Coach Adam Strom is in his second season at Haskell, having led his squad to a 12-17 record last season. The Indians finished 8-4 in conference play.
Stats to Watch
- The Roos have made at least six threes in every game this season.
- Throughout KC's six-game winning streak, they have pulled down double-digit offensive rebounds in each game.
- The Roos are 6-0 when out-rebounding opponents.
