Seniors Bela Gonzalez, Sarah Karloff and Emily Jensen all earned points in their final game as Roos

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Women's Soccer had control for the first 85 minutes of this afternoon's Senior Day match against Oral Roberts, but two late-game goals by the Golden Eagles sunk the Roos' chances, falling 2-1. Seniors Bela Gonzalez and Sarah Karloff found fellow senior Emily Jensen in the 10th minute for KC's lone goal of the day.

KEY MOMENTS

2' | The Roos earned a corner right out of the gates, with Sophia Limongi finding Kassi Ginther for a header attempt that sailed over the crossbar.
10' | Kansas City's seniors collaborated for the first goal of the day, with Gonzalez starting a run in the defensive third. She then found Karloff, who sent a beautiful through pass to the edge of the box, leaving the Golden Eagles' keeper in no-man's land. Jensen latched onto the pass, took a touch and sent a shot into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
22' | Lily Hollis stepped in on an opportunity for ORU, making a tackle and clearing the ball away from danger.
32' | Mackenzie Caldwell was called into action for a save, dropping to her side to prevent the Golden Eagles from scoring.
36' | An impressive tackle by Limongi at midfield ensured the Oral Roberts didn't get a chance at the goal and started a counter attack for the Roos.

Following the match, the Roos honored seniors Bela Gonzalez, Sarah Karloff, Emily Jensen, Kassi Ginther, Emma Wilson and Afton Fennewald. The Roos end the season in sixth place in the Summit League standings, improving their in-conference win percentage by 16% from last season. Kansas City will have 26 student-athletes from this year's roster eligible to return for next season.
