McBlane picks up her first collegiate victory in the loss
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - For the second Saturday in a row, Kansas City Women's Tennis dropped a match in heartbreaking fashion. Last week, it was a 4-3 loss at the hands of North Dakota. This week, it was the same result to Southeast Missouri State University.
The Roos earned the point in doubles to begin the day, with Yana Grechkina and Riddhi Sharma picking up a win at the one spot, and Michela Xibilia and Grace Ball winning at twos.
Grechkina defaulted in her singles match, immediately drawing the score back even. From there, it was a battle between the two squads, with SEMO picking up wins at the two, three and four spots.
Grace Ball continued her solid play at five singles, defeating her opponent, 6-3, 6-3. Rhiannon McBlane picked up her first collegiate victory at the six spot, breezing through the second set. She moves to 1-7 on the season with a 7-5, 6-1 victory.
The Roos are back in action tomorrow against Missouri State at 10 a.m.
