Men’s Soccer Late-Season Run Qualifies Roos For WAC Tournament for First Time Since 2014
Kansas City Men's Soccer appeared in their first conference tournament in five years and posted their most conference victories (five) since 2014. After earning the postseason berth, the Roos lost in the quarterfinals against Utah Valley, 3-0. Coach Rick Benben retired after 22 years, guiding the Roos to seven conference championships (four regular-season; three tournaments) and three trips to the NCAA Tournament (2001, 2003, 2008).
New Head Coach Ryan Pore will lead Kansas City into an exciting and promising future on Aug. 22nd at Durwood Stadium at 7 p.m. against cross-town rival Rockhurst University. In front of over 1,100 fans last year, the Roos defeated Rockhurst 1-0, which included an incredible penalty save from goalkeeper Filippo Errico.
