41 winter and spring senior student-athletes recognized
Dear KC Athletics Family:
As we begin to highlight the achievements this past year, it is imperative to celebrate the accomplishments and stories of our senior student-athletes. In the case of winter and spring athletes, these young leaders were impacted by the abrupt ending of their competition seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this unceremonious occurrence, beginning March 31, we will start our "Roos Senior Spotlight" that will honor senior student-athletes on a weekly basis.
As a former student-athlete, I understand the culmination of events, victories, and valuable lessons that lead up to Senior Night. Unfortunately, not one of our senior spring athletes will get that opportunity.
Unreservedly, COVID-19 will forever be remembered by college athletes in our nation, but seniors may never get another opportunity to compete in the sport they love. I encourage all Roo fans throughout Kansas City and nationally to pay tribute to the 41 spring and winter seniors that gave us exciting memories and dedicated themselves to comprehensive excellence.
Please join us in celebrating the young men and women who have left indelible marks on the history and legacy of our athletics program. They will always be remembered as CHAMPIONS!
With Gratitude,
Dr. Brandon E. Martin
